Greetings Bulldog Families!

On behalf of our Board of Education and the entire staff at Hamburg Central, I want to welcome you to the 2025-26 school year. It’s the thrill of a lifetime for me to reach out to all of you as we approach the start of school. Of course, there’s still time left to enjoy the summer, and I hope that’s what you all are able to do. As with every summer, it’s been a busy one. Our buildings and grounds staff as well as our technology department have been working tirelessly to prepare our schools and surrounding areas for the new year. Our office personnel, administrators, and plenty of staff members continue to get schedules updated and take care of all those details that help make for a successful start. I can’t wait to see students in all our schools as they arrive for the first day of school, and am so looking forward to our halls being filled with the sounds of kids and staff.

Some updates, and some items to look for as we approach September:

Building Projects

As you’ve seen from the weekly capital project newsletters, there has been a large amount of work completed throughout the district over the last few years. These efforts have been part of the Discover 2021 project, and the work continues to positively impact the school experience of all our students and staff.

Transportation

Bus information will be released on Friday, August 22, and you’ll find that information in a new place. We’re pleased to share that Fisher Bus and our district have collaborated on the implementation of My Ride K-12, which will allow you to check on your child’s bus information in real time. The instructions for accessing My Ride K-12 can be found here. You’ll register from that site, and My Ride K-12 will become the exclusive way to get information regarding busing, aside from calling Fisher bus. Again, information for bus transport will be available on Friday, August 22, and transportation information will no longer be available on Parent Portal.

Schedules

Student schedules will be available on the portal on Friday, August 22. To access this important information, visit here. While there, you can check to make sure that all your contact information is correct. If you need to make changes, contact your child’s school office, or email central registration at [email protected].

Other News

  • Parents/guardians of all students will be receiving information from what was formerly called “Operoo,” now referred to as “Forms and Flows.” Please respond by completing these forms as soon as possible.

  • The internet enabled device/schoolday-use policy will be in effect with the start of the school year. Individual schools will be communicating how this policy will work in their respective spaces, but the basics are as follows:

    • Internet enabled devices are not permitted for student use during the entirety of the school day.

    • This includes smartphones, airpods, and smartwatches that connect to the Internet.

    • Students can store such devices for the day in areas designated by building administration.

    • District issued Chromebooks and other internet enabled devices provided by the HCSD are permitted.

  • Be on the lookout for newsletters from our schools as we kick off the year. You’ll find a wide variety of information, including contact numbers and addresses, Open House, school pictures, important dates, and more.

Thanks everyone! We are so fortunate to have your support. Enjoy the remainder of August, have a great Labor weekend, and know that we’re looking forward to seeing everyone in September.

Sincerely,
Tom Adams
